Bad news from Brazil: Deforestation rates are going up and are likely to go even higher
In 2014, Brazil’s deforestation rate was reported to be about 75% below the average for 1996 to 2005. But in recent years, Brazil’s deforestation rate has been going back up, despite the fact that the country is going through its worst recession in decades.
UK to make cold calling about pensions illegal
The UK government is to ban cold calling to sell pension investments. Philip Hammond, the UK chancellor, will announce the ban in his first budget statement tomorrow (23 November).
