Last week, REDD-Monitor wrote about a London-based company that claimed to be in “advanced negotiations” to be “sole UK provider of carbon credits” from Clinton Foundation forestry projects. The company listed two Clinton Foundation projects on its website.
By Chris Lang London Carbon Credit Company is the most recent carbon trading scam to be exposed by Daily Mirror journalist Andrew Penman. According to London Carbon Credit Company, “the future is bright for carbon trading”. But not for the people who buy the carbon credits.
Worldwide Commodity Partners Limited is a London-based commodity trading firm that is currently focussing on the carbon markets. Its website explains that “With carbon offsetting emerging as a rapidly growing market, an opportunity was clear.”
A company called Carvier Limited is advertising 3 million “Sustainability Credit Units” from an area of forest in Brazil. Predictably enough, REDD-Monitor had a few questions for Carvier Limited. And, perhaps just as predictably, Carvier Limited has so far not responded.
