Renwick Haddow appears in court in New York
Renwick Haddow, the man behind the Capital Alternatives network of scam companies, a an alleged Bitcoin fraud and the Bar Works investment scam, has been extradited to the USA. He appeared in a Manhattan District Court on 13 April 2018.

Jesse Ribot is a Professor of Geography at the University of Illinois. In December 2017, Ribot wrote the foreword to a new book, “Global Forest Governance and Climate Change” edited by Emmanuel O. Nuesiri. Ribot’s contribution to the book is a blistering critique of REDD.
Californian REDD in Acre and Chiapas: Legalising mechanisms of dispossession
The state of California is keen to include REDD credits in its cap-and-trade programme. California’s governor Jerry Brown worked closely with the oil industry on California’s climate policy, and is pushing for REDD to be allowed to “offset” ongoing pollution in California.

The EU suspended funding to the €31 million project after Kenya Forest Service guards shot and killed Robert Kirotich, a 41-year-old indigenous Sengwer man. Another man was wounded.
