Celestial Green Ventures is an Irish carbon trading company, registered in November 2010. In 2011, the company claimed to have carbon rights to 20 million hectares of Brazil’s rainforest. The company aimed to become the “leading global supplier of REDD carbon credits in the Voluntary Carbon Market”.

“I have been recently approached by a company called GEN Equities of Dublin who say they can help me exit the market if I invest £5000.” This is one of several recent comments that REDD-Monitor has received about GEN Equities. The company has all the hallmarks of a recovery room scam.

Celestial Green Ventures’ contracts are “not valid”, says Brazil’s National Indian Foundation, FUNAI

Yesterday, Márcio Meira, president of the Brazilian government’s National Indian Foundation (FUNAI), held a press conference at FUNAI’s headquarters in Brazilia. Point Carbon reported that “Brazil’s top judge may annul 30 deals that give investors legal title to carbon credits by avoiding deforestation in the Amazon.”
