City Asset Partnership: Another boiler room scam?

“R”, a commenter on REDD-Monitor, recently told his story about buying voluntary carbon credits from a company called City Asset Partnership. He paid a total of £1,525 for 250 credits, a price of £6.10 per credit. Unfortunately, the company seems to have all the hallmarks of a boiler room scam.

More than 40 international organisations have signed on to a declaration of solidarity with the opposition of organisations in Acre and Brazil to REDD credits in California’s Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32).

The controversy continues over the inclusion of REDD in California’s Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32). In January 2013, the REDD+ Offset Working Group (ROW) released its draft recommendations on how the states of Acre in Brazil and Chiapas in Mexico could generate REDD credits for California’s cap and trade scheme.
