The controversy surrounding the Suruí Forest Carbon Project in Brazil continues. In January 2015, leaders of the Paiter-Suruí wrote a “Note of Clarification” in which they called for the end of the project. The Metareilá Association, the organisation that runs the Suruí Forest Carbon Project, has now responded with a defence of the project.
Windward Capital: Another carbon credit boiler room scam bites the dust
Windward Capital Ltd sold carbon credits to the public as an investment. Earlier this month, it was ordered into liquidation in the High Court for duping investors with false and misleading claims. Two related companies, Met-X Corp. Ltd and Imarc Ltd, were also closed down.

A new report from the Nature Conservancy and the World Bank’s Forest Carbon Partnership Facility looks at jurisdictional REDD. The report looks at eight REDD jurisdictional initiatives, “including a critical look at the success and challenges to date”.
Noble Rock Partners takes over Claremont Partnerships’ recovery room scam
A company called Noble Rock Partners is cold calling people who have been scammed into buying carbon credits as an investment. The company claims it can sell their carbon credits, provided an upfront fee is paid. It’s a scam, of course.
