Carbon markets aren’t working. Time to stop burning fossil fuels

This year sees the 20th anniversary of the Kyoto Protocol. That’s 20 years of wasted time in addressing climate change. Don’t believe me? The graph above shows the Keeling curve – the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere measured at Mauna Loa Observatory. On 22 May 2017, it stood at 410 parts per million.

Bar Works is Renwick Haddow’s latest investment vehicle. Haddow has a history of disastrous investment schemes, the most notorious being the Capital Alternatives network. Bar Works is going the same way, leaving investors worried about where their money has gone.

Madagascar: What happens to REDD when there’s a sapphire rush?

The Ankeniheny-Zahamena Corridor “has long been regarded as one of Madagascar’s top conservation priorities,” Conservation International tells us on its website. Conservation International is running a REDD project there covering more than 371,000 hectares.
